Expander needed

Post by bear-kodiak » Thu Sep 24, 2020 7:47 am

I am in need of a .454” - .464” expander for my ribs dies.
They are on back order from Buffalo arms for quite some time now,
and I tried messaging RCBS to see if I could order from them, and never got
an answer. Does anyone know of where else I might be able to get this expander ?...Jim

I think turning one might be a bit tricky. They are hardened. I am sure it can be done, but not easily. I have tried putting one in drill press and turning it down with a file and emery cloth. No luck. Annealing and rehardening would probably have worked, but...

A local shop could probably make one from scratch to fit an existing die body.

You could also keep an eye on ebay for a used one or ask around the shooting forums for someone that has an extra.
I'm not from here, I just live here.
