C. Sharps Hartford for$2495.00

Post by mrhunterken » Wed May 04, 2016 7:55 pm

I have a chance to but a C Sharps Hartford 50/90. It has upgraded wood with a pistol grip,#1 contour heavy barrel, Hartford collar, Long range tang sights, globe front, standard case finish. Slight damage to forearm (dent) 30" barrel, and she looks gorgeous. Or a new Pedersoli Long Range same caliber, same price. Any comments from the guys who know?

I don't have experience with the chambering, but I'd take the c Sharps over the pedersoli if the twist rate matched my needs for that rifle. I think the price is a little too high for either but esp the Ped. I'm not altogether up on prices however.

The C Sharps is built to take high pressure smokeless loads due to better steels and fitment, the Pedersoli is only capable of black powder loads. Buy American, you'll be glad you did.

I,m not looking to load anything high pressure, already own a Pedersoli and find it hard to believe anything could be put together better than the .45/70 I already have. :D

Interesting that Pedersoli makes a 30-30 rolling block since the 30-30 was never a BP round.
