More fun with butt ugly

Post by Ranch 13 » Mon Jan 07, 2008 4:01 pm

This rifle for being butt ugly and poorly balanced is sure getting boring with the small groups at 270 yds. :D It was a bit warmer ,32, but the wind was anything but stable. So there's some dispersement, but for still less than 100 rnds thru the barrel not so bad I'm thinkin 8)

You must have had some warm weather. The picture you posted on Jan 5 had more snow in it...

Yup it chinooked real good Saturday. Mushy melted goo all over the place, unfortunately it went below 32 before dark that day, and hasn't went above since then, so now we got ice, and glaciers all over the place. :? Trying to get around can be a bit interesting, sort of need automatic ice cleats on the soles of your boots.

You should have bought one of those Eye-talian rifles. You wouldn't have tp make escuses about your American made barrel not being broken in and the residual heat from Italy would warm the place up.

By the way, what is the group size? It's hard to tell from the pic.

They're running about the size of the palm of your hand. The pics don't show it to good but there's several holes that have had multiple bullets went thru . That whole metal sign thing is about 16 inches square.
Waitng for some good weather (read either no wind, or steady wind) so I can put up a decent target to shoot at, and use loads made just for the rifle. So far everything has been loads made last summer and fall for shooting with my Cheap Italian Junker sharps. :o

It's the CSharps 1875 chambered in 45,2.1. Well actually the barrel is just stamped caliber .45
