Re: Verier eye cup anomaly or Phenomenon

Thanks Brent, I see very well at distance. Just up close I need readers. It is not reflection, as I covered the barrel. outside in bright sun it is not noticeable, but inside looking outside or low light the ghost cross hairs appear. Anomaly it is.

Verier eye cup anomaly or Phenomenon

Hello, I've been off the board for awhile. When using the Pedersoli Vernier sight eye cup I see inside the aperture 3 or 4 horizontal ghost lines. I know there is no physical cross hairs in there, so it must be my eye seeing a mirage. Is this a normal thing or is it just my eye. they are old. Writin...

45-70 bullet drop

I know there are a lot of factors, but in a general sense if you held a level barrel and fired a 405 grain bullet not compensating with sights, how much would that bullet drop at a 100 yards?

Re: Drop tube technique

I use a 34 inch 1/4" id aluminum tube with a brass funnel, the kind Muzzle loaders use to fill a flask. It is adjustable inside the case up or down so I can place it just inside the case an 1/8" more or less. I dump in the funnel with a pan, the kind with a spout on one side and I tap or trickle the...

Re: Newbie advice requested

I have a Pedersoli 1874 Sharps with a pistol grip. I think they call it a "silhouette" model. I have never seen a Shiloh up close so I cannot compare the two, however I have been around a lot of guns in my time and my gun seems to me to be a "nice gun". It isn't a queen but the case colors are decen...

Re: Target shooting camera systems

don't laugh, but before i found there were target cameras I toyed with the idea of using a baby cam. there is one model that is advertised to 300 meters, however the camera does not have a battery pack, needs to be plugged into a 120v outlet. the monitor does have rechargeable battery. for under a h...

Re: bulletology 101

Thanks Brent; I understand what you're saying about casting my own bullets. I maybe should clarify that I haven't found the bullet that the gun really likes yet and so I'm not willing to buy a bunch of molds until I find the right one worth investing in. As I can see in the photo you posted you obvi...
