Irons Aggregate Winner: Jodi Decker - (60/80) It was a near picture perfect weekend for shooting as we welcomed some new shooters from Illinois as well as a couple faces we hadn’t seen for a while. The temps were in the 60’s and 70’s and there was not much wind to speak of. On Sunday, during the latter part of the day, the mirage did kick up a notch and caused some problems with stray bullets. There were some good scores posted at the end and congratulations are due to the iron sight and scope aggregate winners. I would like to mention a few of the shooters who stepped it up this weekend as we had some impressive shooting going on in Michigan. Brad Ryan moved up to AAA irons, John Whittemore advanced to AAA scope, and Debbie Primeau moved to A irons and was one pig short of 10 in a row (pig #10 no less!) Darryl Hursey shot irons instead of his scope and moved up to A plus got his first AA score and his first 10 pigs in some time. Way to go Darryl! Dave Gubert joins master class as a scope shooter as does Paul Behe. On Sunday Paul also cleaned all the banks off the sticks and that doesn’t happen very often at the A. P. Goodrich range. Nice job Paul. Lastly my wife Jodi, in four matches this year, moved up to AAA irons with one master class score. I will never get tired of the feeling I get as I shake my head in amazement after she shoots a good relay. I know there are a number of men out there who have their wives as shooting partners. So all you guys out there thinking about it go for it. As I know all husband-wife teams would be sure to agree with me when I say it just doesn't get any better. July 10, 11 & 12 is our 3 day (120 shot) Great Lakes Regional - a registered match. Practice will be on Thursday, and lunch will be served on Saturday. Plan on being there!
