Our Easter weekend BPCR Silhouette Match at Avenal hosted 19 shooters who braved the threat of rain and the Easter Bunny. A great time was had by all as usual. That’s what Avenal BPCR Silhouette is all about.

Ed Espinosa showed the scope crowd how to shoot. He shot a 29 to take Match Winner honors. That makes three AAA scores for you Ed, time to move up and play with the “big boys”!

Chris Rogers shot his way to Iron Sights Match Winner with a 27. Thanks for leaving Jeanette at home Chris. At least the rest of us had a chance!

Check out the chicken scores from last month and this month. There used to be a lot of “goose eggs’ but if you don’t get at least 2 chickens now you’re an “also ran”. Great offhand shooting everyone!

California State BPCR Championship Match. We have 50 confirmed shooters with 3 more pending. You need to get your pre-registration forms and fees in now if you plan to shoot. We have room for a maximum of 60 shooters. Please call Jerry Hartwig at (559) 285-3407 to check for available spots. Don’t forget, we’ll be having a no-host pot-luck at the clubhouse Saturday evening. You don’t know what you’re missing if you haven’t been to one of these.

Range Work Day May 8th. Friday May 8th, the Friday before our monthly BPCR Silhouette Match, will be our last chance to get things in order for the State Match. If you can join us bring a rake and a sense of humor. We always have a great time even when we’re working.

Indoor Gallery Matches. Our monthly Friday night indoor gallery matches are entirely too much fun. An informal gallery match that will leave you wondering why you haven’t joined us before. Although we prefer vintage single shot rifles with vintage scopes, any 22 caliber rimfire rifle with any type of sight is acceptable. We plan to shoot the Friday evening before the State BPCR Match also so bring your trusty 22 along and join the fun.

Our next match will be May 9th. Don’t miss out on the fun. Come out Friday, work a little, play a little, and laugh a lot.
