AVENAL GUN CLUB Don Rogers Memorial Match October 11-12, 2008 |
The 7th Annual Don Rogers Memorial BPCRS Match will be held on October 11-12, 2008. This event is hosted by the Avenal Gun Club in Central California. In October we expect Indian Summer weather with pleasant days and cool nights. Last year this event drew 43 shooters making it the largest two day BPCRS match in California. Pre-registration will be required this year with a limit of 60 shooters. Registration forms and fees can be submitted in person at any of the monthly Avenal BPCRS matches or mailed. Registration forms with fees need to be received no later than October 4, 2008. The match will consist of two 40 shot programs, one each on Saturday and Sunday. Aggregate scoring will determine awards. NRA Silhouette rules and classifications are used. Awards are presented to Match Winners and also First, Second, and Third in each class for scope and iron sights. BPCR 5 and 10 pins will be awarded. Target setters are provided. Entry fees are $15.00 per day for AGC members and $20.00 per day for non-members. The Grand Prize this year is an engraved 45-70 Rolling Block silhouette rifle. The rifle and additional prizes will be distributed in a drawing following the match on Sunday. Everyone who shoots the match will have the same chance at winning. The range has non-potable water and rest rooms. Camping on site is available. Dry camping is free, electrical hookup is $5.00 per day. Motels are about 9 miles east in Kettleman City on I-5 and in nearby Coalinga. The range will be open for practice on Friday, October 10th. On Saturday evening (October 11th) there will be a no-host potluck at the clubhouse. Bring a family favorite covered dish and spend a relaxing meal with friends. Please accept our invitation to attend. Avenal is an experience beyond the shooting. The food is great, and the company is second to none. Come early, enjoy the friendship, and have fun!
