Correct...but the people who give them out..match directors?...have to buy them. As a MD many years ago for NRA handgun silhouette and IHMSA, I bought the pins and gave them out at matches. IHMSA quit maikng them but I can't recall where we got the NRA pins from.

The NRA sells them ,if i remember right there $1.50 each. You get an order book for them and all the other stuff they sell when you apply with a schedule of your NRA matches . Arnie

They use real guns. I shoot CBA 100yd silhouette with an original 1894 Marlin 26" octagonal barrel lever gun in 25-20.
