Loads for 45-70

Postby james fraker » Fri Dec 14, 2007 11:56 pm

I need some help and advice concerning cast non gas checked loads with smokeless powder for a Marlin 1895 Cowboy 45-70 2005 vintage and Marlin 1895 221/2 inch vintage 1990 vintage both bores mea .458. Both will shoot 1 1/2 inch groups, with jacketed or gas checked cast bullets. But with cast bullets non gas checked the groups are 4 plus inches. If possible I would like to use Laser Cast Bullets because of availiabilty in 300,350 and 405 weights. Thank you. Jim Fraker
