Original #1 rolling block sporting rifle in 40-50 bn

Post by firefighter1990 » Tue Mar 27, 2018 8:24 pm

Hello all. I'm moving this fine old ghost in pursuit of another item that is striking my fancy. Attached is a link to my local ad but I can ship it direct to your door as its an antique. My ad is asking for $3000 locally but my bpcr.net price is $2750.

i'll bet that rifle could tell a few stories :!:
pictures show an item that has obviously had a good interesting life.
hope the chamber has not been buggered up, and never is.
keep safe,
bruce.

Indeed it is a living ghost. Still wears the original barrel with original pp chamber. Some slight pitting but still in fair condition.

Bump for trade or sell. I'm looking for a farmingdale Shiloh. Only specifics I require is that it's a pistol grip configuration. I'm planning a build for a dedicated hunting rig so I'm open to trades on such an animal.

What caliber would you build your Sharps in?

Been wanting to add a 44 to the herd and make it a well-rounded collection. Something historically correct at that so it the 44-60, 44-77, or the 44-90. I'm leaning towards a 44-77 with a paper patched chamber as of yet.

Thats what I was looking at your Rough rider for , Ive got a extra 44 barrel and don't have a 44-90 PP.
I have a roller in 44-70 2.1 and a Sharps in44-70 2.1 and a Hiwall in 44-70 Maynard 2.2. I Like those .44's

I doubt anything I hit with one will know the difference between a 44 and a 45 but it's something new and something different. :D everyone I've talked to says the 44's are good shooters. I aim to find that out for myself here sooner than later.
