Mold that drops .459 w/WW??

Post by JBridger » Sat Mar 14, 2009 8:35 am

I've got a .459 groove dia. and I'm looking for a mold that will drop a true .459 in the 400gr range with WW alloy. I would like to use Lyman 457193, but have heard it will drop smaller than that with WW. Possibly the Saeco #018 is my next best choice. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

My Lyman 457193 mould drops ww bullets at a smidge over 0.460, and I run them through a 0.459 RCBS sizer die.

WW doesn't shrink as much as pure lead or 20-1 alloy so bullets should come out a little oversized.

Thank you guys for the help. I'll give the 457193 a shot. No pun intended :P
