Depends on you and your rifle and what you want to do and how you want to do it.

sorry to be so obtuse.

This would be a decent choice for many rifles and purposes. But I would get it with a flat base instead of a cup.

I like this one in my .44-77 but I have one for the .45 and .40 I like it so well. It is a reproduction of a Sharps. KAL makes a Gibbs like it also.
I have yet to recover one from a Bison for the four it has put down. And it also shoots well for long range.

Kurt, have you used that on a deer or pronghorn?

I think it would be fine on real big stuff, but might not expand much on the small stuff.

No Brent I haven't. A Bison is not very wide either but the exit hole is a lot larger then the entrance especially when I cut a couple ribs.

I put one through a scull and the exit just blew the scull and horn off. The hide held it in place till it rotted off with the head on a post and the buzzards eating on it it's just handing by a small part of the scull that did not crack.
