Old eye's need help with scope?

Post by cda4570 » Sun Oct 11, 2020 5:16 pm

:?: I have a Shiloh 1874 LRE 45-70 and want to add a DZ scope and mounts.
Not sure what to order for bases. Standard wgt oct barrel 34".
What should I be looking at to get this up and running? I like to use the open sights if light is good
but finding targets is getting harder.
What is best mount spacing for up to 1000yds?
Any help is welcome.

I would ask DZ about this specifically. I prefer 7.2" spacing but I don't shoot 1000 with scope. Ask Dan, he will know how to best set up one of his scopes for that purpose.

Sent email to Dan and he replied right away. Answered my question but forgot to ask about mount blocks.
Sent him a question regarding height of blocks and he replied back within 5 minutes with a phone call :)
How great is that for customer svc. Set me straight and I ordered a scope package so now it’s wait for a box to appear on the door step :D
