It was a great weekend for long range shooting. Bill and Jeanne Corbin of the Tail'n Ranch at Connerville, Oklahoma hosted a group of Oklahomans and couple of Texans this last weekend to their "Buffalo" style shoot. A 22 LR Long Range shoot was held on Friday shooting out to 275 yards. A cool front came in and made the conditions interesting to say the least. This year's winner of the 22 match was Jay Lee. Friday's events include a great Chuckwagon dinner and a band out at the range. Saturday morning bought better weather and shooters to the line to give a try at the 6 targets ranging from: 310m offhand "bucket" target, from 300m, 385m, 500m, 600m and 1,000 yard Buffalo target from sitting with shooting-sticks. Eight shots were lauched at each target for a total 48 possible hits. This year's winner was Bill Shupert with a total of 34 with his Shiloh Sharps 45-90. Second, John Gage, with a score of 31 using a C. Sharps Hi-wall in 45-90 and Third, Dan Zimmerman, with a score of 30 using one of his D-Z Arms "Hepburn" in 45-90. It looked like the 45-90 ruled the day this year. Be looking this time next year for this fun match. You won't want to miss it!
