Greetings!

I've got an "1882" getting ready to make the trip to L.Romano. I had a local 'smith' sleeve and chamber it to .32-40BM; the chamber was so tight that the brass wouldn't budge, and a part of the mechanism failed. It won't extract, nor will it put the hammer into half-cock.
I believe that it was a No. 9 in a previous life, a .35-40. If I'd known what I know now, I would've had one of the Single Shot Gunsmiths sleeve and chamber for the original .35-40.
The Maynard is really a pretty rifle, and I look forward to actually shooting it. L. Romano says he's supplying extra barrels with CC'd levers for about $950, fitted. I'll have to wait on that!
