A few years ago I was watching an old Bonanza episode and there was a Maynard Carbine in it. No-one ever used it, just took it off the rack and opened and closed it. That was all.
A few evenings ago we were watching an old Gary Cooper movie, "Friendly Persuasion" and one of the boys went off to join the militia (Civil War) with a Maynard carbine. I had great hopes for seeing it in action, but by the time they were behind the makshift breastworks he had a musket. Darn. They might not have gotten overrun if he had still had that Maynard.
Oh well; such is theworld of illusion.
