40-65 on moose

Post by AlanF » Fri Nov 25, 2011 6:32 pm

I may have the chance to hunt moose in eastern Canada and wondered if a top end 40-65 load would be up to the task in the 100 yard range? Thanks.

Cant imagine why not. I've had 70 gr of swiss 1.5 in mine. with the proper bullet, it should work.

If it will punch holes through a 20lb gas bottle (like mine does) then I dont think it have much trouble with a moose.

Absolutely. Choose a good flatnosed bullet and you are fine.
