Winchester tang screws

Does anyone have a good way (or a good drill bit) for drilling the tapered screw that is used to connect the two tangs of a Winchester 1885 highwall? That taper is essential and I could drill it large and then epoxy bet it, but I would rather drill it right, I just don't have a drill bit to do the job.

Any suggestions?

Drill to the small end diameter and then use a taper reamer.

Do you know the dimensions of the taper? I don't know if these things are standardized but perhaps they are., or perhaps there is a "Winchester taper reamer" specifically for this job?

I have no knowledge about the taper screw on the 1885, if facing this problem I would contact this company; http://www.wisnersinc.com/rifles/
They are very knowledgable on gun parts.
