Pedersoli- "Goodwin style" Creedmoor sight.

Post by Singleshot S.A. » Mon May 30, 2016 11:41 pm

Hi all,

I have the opportunity to pick up a second hand "Goodwin style" Pedersoli sight.
That is........ it is offset to enable barrel cleaning between shots, with out moving the sight.
I plan to fit it to a Pedersoli Rolling Block. The reasonably straight stock won't accomodate a long range sight if cleaning every shot is required
because the sight doesn't lay down enough to be out of the way.
Has anyone here fitted the Goodwin Style, or used one, and what is your opinion.

Note the Home grown sight on it at the moment is only about 2" high and just lays down enough when set for 100 yds.

Cheers, Singleshot S.A.

The Goodwin type sight is a great sight, the only problem I saw was the sight is fixed and recoil can bash a person's eyebrow if one crawls the stock.

Mike Neumann in SA makes a nice Dr. Goodwin, better than the Pedersoli one. I have 2 of his sights mounted on Martini's, they're just qbout the only sight that will work with a Martini action without having to perch the front sight on a ridiculously tall block. The other advantage is indeed the accessibility for wiping.
