CPA

Post by chaz » Thu Nov 24, 2005 5:24 am

Ok, Let's here about our CPA's and Steven's out there! Mine is a 38-50 Hep. with Hoke sight. Still learning how to shoot and load but love the rifle. What's everybody else shooting? And Coydog they are not ugly, so don't start that again.

Years ago they made a fine air rifle, but Daisy bought them out!

I have 3 CPA's at the house and 1 on order

45-100 silhouette model - 32" barrel - likes 98 gr of 1F and a PJ Creedmore, shoots 2 - 2 1/2 groups at 200 yds - this gun excels in 1000 yd competition

45-70 silhouette model - 30" barrel - just starting to tune it, might get another barrel built, just a little heavier in 45/90.

38-55 silhouette model - sized for my wife

38-55 silhouette model - sized for my daugher - on order hoping it will be here for XMas

eventually I am going to have 1 more built with super high grade wood, rust blued barrel in 45-100 probably and the barrel is going to be fixed.

i did/will do the wood on the four above and when I save my pennies, will get the presentation grade wood for Gail and Paul to use to build the last one.

I love my CPA. Started out with it in 45-70 but after my arthritis aced up so bad I had to change out to .38-55. Love the loads now. Too bad I can't hold it up for chickens but if the shoulder gets better I'll start shooting Silhouette again.

Wood was perfect, better than the grade I ordered. I bought it unfinished. And had the forearm unfinished witht he conversion. Wood matched perfectly.
I came, I saw, I shot

I've got one in 40-65 with a extra barrel in 45-100, extra fancy wood, checkering, Smith front sight and a Lynn Yaunt rear sight. Like you say the 100 is TOPS at the 1000 yard line. I shoot the 100 for a whole year at buffalo and gong matches 7 in all and after that year it took me 3 year to get over the closed eyes and strong trigger pull.....if you get my drift....
otherwise I love the 40........

Getz Barrel

Post by plumloco » Fri Dec 09, 2005 10:53 am

I read the article. It was a good one. Would love to hear more about his barrels? I have a few of his BPCR barrels (in the works!). Have not shot them yet. The few that are out there are getting real good results. If they are anything like the ML barrels. I will have a couple of good shooters. He also sent me a few picture of a front sight he is going to use for his rifle. I think it was called Rifle jewelry. That was an under statement. I forget who made it. But WOW! I will be looking into this one for my rifle!!

Well, I took delivery on the rifle I had built for my daughter today. She is going to be surprised on Christmas day! Gail and Paul made sure it was done. Once I get the wood all finished, then well the boys better watch out!

I had 2 buttstocks built, one for now and one for later as she gets older.
