Stevens 44 1/2 barrel

Post by norb68 » Fri May 13, 2011 10:58 pm

Hi all, Does anyone know where I can find an original Stevens 44 1/2 barrel in 25/20. I just bought a Stevens 44 1/2 in 22 cal, I also bought a new breech block from CPA so I could change it over to a center fire. I am looking for a used Stevens 44 1/2 barrel in 25/20 that someone may have laying around from a Stevens rebarrel job. My plan is to have both barrels and breech blocks and extractors so I can change back and fourth. I think CPA offers this option on there guns. Anyway if anyone has one they would like to get rid of I would be interested.

Thanks norb68

Not trying to be an a** but you do realize that you will have to have the barrel fitted to the action and rechambered ? I have CPA actions and the barrels are not interchangeable back and forth, they are fitted to their particular action.

You would be extremely lucky to find one that indexed up correctly to the shoulder for the extractor and set screw cuts to line up

In the long run, you might be better off just to have them (CPA) make one for you

You also could go ask over on the assra site if anyone has a barrel

Yes I am aware of that but thanks for the heads up anyway. I may have over simplified my explanation of the CPA rifles a bit but yes I do realize I will have to do some fitting of a different barrel to my action.
