getz barrels

Post by bluesteel45 » Fri Dec 16, 2005 10:33 pm

the barrels are a new thing for the getz company. a true custom shop. contoued to your specs, or winchester or sharps tapers. single point cut. nickle moly is the steel of choice and rifling style is vintage 1870-1880 as described earlier.....schoyen/ metford. these truly are custom made deals, not mass produced...some are available soon due to their recent appearance on the scene. more details, call john or don at 570-658-7263.ask about the highwall oct-rd barrel with the straight knurled winchester wedding band transition.....just flat out sexy!!!! looks like it's going 100 miles an hour sittin' still..........purely subjective, i assure you!!thanks....john

Knurling

Do you put the knurl on for a good grip, when breaking skylights out of burning hotels?

Burning hotels

Post by crossfireoops » Sat Dec 17, 2005 8:16 am

On the burning hotels front.....................

Don't see the High wall, as the best design for this, particularly one that hasn't been through bolted. Hard to beat a Sharps, when it comes to a club, although the straight grip roller is a good runner up.

What can you do by way of a massive 34" Sharps '74, hartford breech pattern? :?:

Is it possible to pressure knurl an octagon profile? :?:

If not, a massive round , with a bit of taper will have to do..........

Thinkin' along the lines of 5" of very coarse Diamond knurl , one back towards breech, starting just foward of lever spring dovetail cut, and one just to the rear of the front sight dovetail.

A Pitch similar to that used on my Snap-on ( TM ) 3/4" drive ratchet would probably be about right.

Smashing sylights is hot , sweaty work, and the idea here is to be able to get a grip.

Hello,
I have to let Blue answer the one! But you can contact Getz at 570-658-7263. The Getz BPCR Barrels are made by the same Company as the Muzzle loader barrels. I have a couple of his new Barrels. Not up and running yet. But! If they shoot as good as they look. Watch OUT! Can't wait to get mine up and running. Will keep you posted.
Merry Christmas!!!!!

Crossfire

I think it is like a spam attack! There have been a lot of new members signing up lately with web pages at blogspot.com??? I wouldn't try to link there it might be a virus or worse. I just noticed the wierd user names with no info except an e-mail address and no posts from them except that one. Maybe an administrator should look into this.

SPAM ATTACK

Post by crossfireoops » Sat Jul 15, 2006 12:01 am

any SOB that screws up my little internet access deal better be ready for a Comanche sorta' attack............

I thought that perhaps this was a funny.........Stevens shooters, handbags, etc  .

On a brighter note...........my place has recently become infested with some wonderfully aged, and honestly beat up 44s :D .

It don't get alot better'n this.......................they are SUPER tunable, and, re-lined capable of the best accuracy  .....................long's one understands the limitations inherant in a "swinging block" action.

The heat treating on these old relics............? Something that more than a few modern Mfgs. should study.......I'm talkin' Hammers / sears /extractors.

We , most probably, wil not see their like, again, in our time.

Damn!.........I hate sounding like an old fart  .

We all gotta do what we gotta do, I guess.

Shoot well, shoot often.
