Rollers

Post by crossfireoops » Sun Jan 13, 2008 8:58 am

Thanks for putting that up, Ken,

Were those full stocked rifles typical of the period Nordics, or later "Custom jobs"?

They're sure purty, either way.

The full stocks are from the factory in that configuration. The Husqvarna factory offered the rollers in both half and full stock versions.

Some of 'em are really purty for military rifles. Wish some of our Lee Enfields etc. had such nice wood, might make me more inclined towards 'em! End of the day, why put nice timber on a rifle that's gonna end up buried in the mud, driven over, blowed up, whatever

The ones pictured are sporting rifles, not the military version

Neat! I want one...might have to change directions on the old Carl Gustav action I have in the shop...a little Mannlicher-stocked carbine in .38-55...hmmm.

Here's a type 33A I picked up last month. It's had the chamber recut to accept .38-55 brass, which was simply cutting the rim to fit. It has a 3 leaf express style rear sight.

33 rollers

There was one down at "Cashway pawn" in Tucson some time back.....a whopping U.S.$300 asked,.....as a consignment gun,...I reckon $250 woulda' took it.

I can't advise strongly 'nuf about NOT cutting,...and "Slimming" old BP monoliths into this tempting,....very svelte profile,.....DUMB,....from the get go,....with old IRON guns.

there were NEVER any IRON 33s.

they are all,....all of 'em,... modern early smokeless steel

....Like Early 20th century Mausers,.........and proportianately strong.

Ken,.....you promised to get a bunch of good builders out into the market.

Market's waiting,....bro.
