FWIW: I have used an MVA LR soule (buffalo model) with the hadley eyepiece. The MVA is strong and accurate. It has easy to read markings and is finely made. I have also used the Kelly soule sight: while accurate it is not quite as strong as the MVA. I started using an MVA 113 front sight but have mo...

Not sure about EAST Texas but we shoot at Mexia (tomorrow 9/1) on the 1st and 3rd Sat of each month. There are matches in Graham, Ft. Chadbourne (near Abilene) and at Yaupon (near San Antonio).
As for spending money.... hang on, the rifle is the least expensive part of the deal.

LC
Like Johnboy said. In my 1884 Trapdoor I load 70 gr. Goex Ctg with the Lee 405 HB bullet. I use .032 wad over the powder and compress enough to seat the bullet to the crimp band. Shoots OK but the 500 RN is a better choice in the Springfield.
Good luck
AL.

Dave is a neat guy: he built a 50/70 sporting rifle for me about3 years ago: it is a high quality and accurate rifle. I have also been to Dave's shop several times... only thing to watch out for is that Dave will talk your ear off............... but it's worth it.

I think you have more problems than that. This sight may be marked in metric units making the vernier far more difficult to use.... check that out. As far as folding the staff, you may be able to stone the edge of the detent notch on the staff to allow the staff to fold. JUST break the edge, don't g...

Sweets Scroll down on the "general discussion" page to the log about 22 rimfire targets. You can use these just fine out to 2oo yards for ram and 150 for turkey. You can use the hunter pistol pig targets at 100 yards (also available on the web) and the chicken target can be scaled up from the NRA we...

Go to the home page here at BPCR.net and scroll down to Dave Crossnoes' article on 22 sillouette matches. It's a PDF document that includes downloadable drawings of the full size (2/5) targets.

Auito dispensers use some small amount of electricity: batteries, etc. Combine that with plastic hoppers (staic source) and lawyers and the warnings fly as CYA. I found that weighing and drop tubing is fairly quick and dependable,,, the dispenser is just not really of use.
Good luck

Throck I live in Azle, just NW of Ft. Worth and I shoot at the Parker County Sportsman Club range in Poolville. PCSC has a web sight and gives info on membership. The range runs out to 285 yards and is 1st class with concrete benches and overhead cover. The Haltom City R&P club also has a nice range...
