I found pouring the powder into the tube, very slowly, made for more powder in the case and better consistency. So.... because I am not happy...

Trimming cases for B.S.

Hi all, in my relentless quest to shoot better groups with a black powder rifle, I find yet another reason for advice. I am using 40/65 Starline brass which have been checked for length, and they have been used many times. When I drop tube my weighed Wano PP, some cases don't fill to the top. Is thi...

Re: Ideal .40 cal weight.

I had good luck with the lyman snover at 20/1 but took three moulds to find correct dia for my 40. Fouling control with your 32" bbl may be more important than bullet nose at 200 yds. Thanks for that remark. I often think that the last two or three inches of barrel are a little dry when wiping. I d...

Re: Ideal .40 cal weight.

Well, I'll be in your neck of the woods in a half year or so. I'd be glad to help with whatever I can. I'll be muzzleloading on this trip, but the two games are really pretty similar. I even use the same bullets and powder charges in both types of rifles. Anyway, I'm looking forward to visiting Ade...

singleshot sa, possibly you don't listen when people tell you things. possibly you fail to define what you need to know. possibly you don't recognize people that do know. possibly you don't recognize good advice when you get it. I have found a number of south ozzies that know a lot, and will give w...

What are these inserts ?

Hi all, I have a front sight on a rifle with only one insert and would like to get some more, only I don't know what brand they are. They are the same type as a the Lyman 17A but much larger in diameter. These inserts are 13/16" in diameter plus the wings on each side. The wings on each side appear ...
