NH Long Range BPCR Shoot

Well, sorta long range, 500 yds ok? My club is going to hold it's first ever long range BPCR shoot on August 19th I have no idea what the format will be. I don't know if we'll be shooting paper or steel. I am however 100% sure that I'm going to be corraled into having something to do with it 8) I'm ...

Re: New Hampshire newbie looking for BPCR shoots

Haven't checked this board for awhile. We go out to 500 @ Sunset Mountian. Unfortunately we also have a waiting list to join as we cap our membership @ 500 members. You can download a membership app. and get on the list if you'd like. Last weekend I was at ridgway PA for my 1st shoot and loved it. I...

Re: Paper-patching Brownings & Winchester 45-90's

Happy Easter all !!!!!! I managed to get some time at the range to shoot yesterday. The wind was brutal, strong enough to blow my shooting mat and bullets of the bench. So I shot off hand @ 200 with my "real" PP bullets and did surprisingly well. I was just shooting steel. A reduced size B-27 just a...

Re: Paper-patching Brownings & Winchester 45-90's

I guess every once in awile a blind pig can find an acorn. Using my Redding neck die the bullet patched to 445 is a nice snug fit in the case. You can see how much it sizes a fired case in the 1st pic. And, the bullet patched with 20# paper I use for work orders is a nice firm fit in a new, un-fired...

Re: Paper-patching Brownings & Winchester 45-90's

My moulds showed up tuesday. I ordered 2 BACO PP moulds, a 441545 and a 438530 Works been to busy for me to spend any real time casting but I did pour a few so I could patch and measure them I probably shouldn't complain about a busy business these days. Results are in the pic. The 441 mould I bough...

Re: Paper-patching Brownings & Winchester 45-90's

I need to correct a post I made. That was NOT a chamber cast of my Browning 45-90 I belive its a cast of a Danish rolling block I own. Sunday I shot my 1st ever PP bullets. Results were medicore at best, but I didn't have my hopes set to high. I managed to keep 20 rnds. in a 2'X2' area @ 300yds. I u...

Re: Paper-patching Brownings & Winchester 45-90's

I really like the way you guys measure. Great info! The chamber cast I have was from when I bought the rifle new. It's been dropped a few times, banged around, and knocked off shelves by SWMBO's cats. I have some idea's. They may be right, they may be wrong. But I'm gonna run with them and see what ...

Re: Paper-patching Brownings & Winchester 45-90's

I slugged the barrel on my Browning again last night.
I couldn't remember if it was .450 or .451 bore dia.
Turns out it's .451.

Also found the chamber cast I made when I first got the rifle.

here's a pic.

Need to work now :-)

Re: Paper-patching Brownings & Winchester 45-90's

I, for one, am gratefull to finally know the true meaning of SWMBO. Now, back to bullets. I'm bringing home some pin gauges tonite and I'm going to wrap them to find a snug fit in my Browning's barrel. I'm betting I'll need a .444 bullet with paper .002 thick to make a nice fit in the bore. Next ste...

Re: Paper-patching Brownings & Winchester 45-90's

Not to be a wise @ss Dan, But you need to know that I have more than enough " new things to learn" without you posting pics and writing articals about old fashioned ammo and bullets. I was perfectly happy booming away with my GG bullets and my sexy and beautifull PJ molds, tenderly filled with fancy...
