For the spikes, I use a good sharp drill bit 5/16 or 3/8" dia. to drill the holes, then epoxy and tap in worn/used drill bits of the same dia. for the spikes. The drill rod is much tougher than nails or cheap spikes. Randy

spurdude, in my experience this is not uncommon when using and firing new cases for the first time. You are in effect fire forming them. If you don't size the cases and hand seat your bullets, the next time you fire them there should be no blackening of the exterior case. Randy

Buy a large jug of Marvel Mystery Oil at the auto parts store and mix half n' half with kerosene. Soak the parts in that for a day or two and use a tooth brush (your wife's if she is a meany) and it works great. Also makes a good barrel soak to get lead out. Randy

Mike, your front sight needs to be dead center on target at 100 yds. You also need to make sure that your rear sight, assuming is is a tang sight is both parallel and perpendicular with the bore of the barrel. If not, this could cause your problems also.
