Re: Search BPCR Shooters in South Louisiana or Mississippi

Hey Brandon! New to the sport myself. Located in Lake Charles, LA. Had neck surgery yesterday, so it'll be a few weeks before I can go shoot. If you're ever in the area, look me up.

Hats off to Lee Shaver!

About three weeks ago, I disassembled my Browning 1885 High Wall BPCR. 45-70 rifle and sent the action to Lee Shaver in Missouri. I had some reservations, but the people on this forum spoke highly about his work. The person I purchased the gun from said that it had an "action job", but I just knew i...

Re: Trigger Job????

I'm located in southwest Louisiana. Lee Shaver, a gunsmith in Missouri is doing my Browning High Wall 185 BPCR action. Said it would be about a one week turn around time. I talked with him last week and he said it would be down to about 1-1/2 to 2 lbs when complete. Just Google Lee Shaver Gunsmith a...

Re: Replacing front sight level?? HELPPPP!!

Thanks for the reply DrCook. I'll be giving it a good look today. The level was broken when I bought the gun, so its very possible that it is slightly bent. I try the drill, very carefully, and see if that solves the problem. Thanks again....

Evening Montana Charlie,
I guess you'll have to talk to me like a first grader; hate to admit to my lack of knowledge, but what would the chamber cast tell me? Thanks,

Replacing front sight level?? HELPPPP!!

I have a Browning 1885 High Wall BPCR, .45-70, maufactured in 1997 with original front globe sight with a level. When I purchased the rifle, the level had been broken. I contacted AMT (makers of the original site) and was able to obtain a replacement level. Luckily, I purchased two levels. It seemed...

Re: wiping instead of blow tube

Hey guys, Another newbie here! Is Ballistol/water mixture good for swabbing between shots? If I don't swab or use a "blow tube", how many shots can I make without greatly affecting accuracy? Just got my gun yesterday....a Browning 1885 High Wall BPCR manufactured in 1997, .45-70. The only bullets I ...
