Re: Case separation.

Check the thickness of the brass at the mouth of the case. I had that happen with some starline 38-55 sized to 32-40. The guy I got the rifle and cases from said he was perplexed by it, he could load smokeless and no problems, black powder loads would seperate the cases... After I thought it was pro...

Re: Pedersoli high wall won't eject shell

I bought it brand new from Hinterland Outfitters, although they got it from Taylors.. The warranty card goes to Taylors You may want to contact Taylor's directly about the problem. They did at one time have their own in house gunsmith. There are a number of good smiths on your side of Montana, so i...

Re: 32/40 Brass.

ww 32-40 brass is pretty hard to come by, but if you can get Hornady 32 special brass over there a quick pass thru the 32-40 die and fireform and your pretty much good to go.

Unless you have an explosives dealer license, selling and shipping that powder would be a pretty good way to play "lets win a chance to go to federal prison"

Re: Texas long range bpcr matches

Mexia is probably the place we hear most about with their silhouette matches. Youpon Creek around Houston, and sometimes there's mention of something at Ft. Chadbourn, They have a long range gong match south of Pecos every year in late October, but not sure if they do anything else during the year o...

Re: compressing black powder

Yup , but that doesn't take into account the shooters that aren't top shooters still at times shoot the same or in some instances better scores than the "top" shooters. I would venture it has about as much to do with shooter/spotter abilities/experience than it does the powder. It also doesn't take ...

I don't know about this Swiss beats out OE every time business.
Both are good powders, and it's not unusual for someone shooting OE to be repsonsible for certain Swiss devotee's to be on suicide watch after the scores are posted.

Re: Drilled out primer pockets

Wolf's original intent in that flash hole drilling and magnum primers was trying to reproduce the amount of flash that got to the powder with the old Berdan primers and the 4 flash holes those cases had. Big fly in the ointment on that is those old primers were weaker than what we have today, and as...

Re: Current Lyman Postell mold quality

A couple of other moulds that throw good bullets for the 45-70 are the Saeco 645, and the RCBS 82084 (530 gr) bullet. Buffalo Arms moulds are as Gert said very high quality, and are offered in a variety of diameters. Something you're Pedersoli may need is a bullet that drops from the mould at .460 d...

Re: 35 Wesson?

What is the head stamp on the cases? Dan was playing around with 357 max cases with a 250 gr bullet. Charles Outler had one built for his grandson. Might look at Buffalo Arms moulds and see if they have a 35 caliber mould listed yet.

Brent's right, not much going on anywhere.
The various shooting pages on Facebook seem to have replaced the activity on the forums.
