Interesting results but I seriously doubt that you can cast enough bullets accurately enough replicating everything close enough to detect a 1gr difference in weights and associate that with temperature only. With a 400gr bullet that is .25% variance in weight which is well under the average varianc...

I fitted a tang on an Argentine Rolling Block that works pretty good. The eye will instinctively center any front sight in a rear aperture which is the basis for the XO Sights. It will work quite well for any hunting distance within reason such as 150yrds or so. I generally try to keep my iron sight...

I havn't found that the temperature to preheat a mold needs to be that precise. I generally preheat the mold on a hotplate, test cast a few bullets then rest the mold on the plate when I'm adding lead to the pot or fiddling around some.
