Re: Baby wipes

Avoid the flushable ones, I found they tear.

Re: .50/70 Cartridge Box

Are you referring to a period correct ctg box or modern day plastic box?

I have two Made by MTM Caseguard.

I use the H50 for my 50-90 ammo.

Baby wipes

Anyone ever cut these up and used them for between shots swabbing?

They do a pretty good job, not to wet and the solution that is in them really clean the BP and lube.

They're pretty inexpensive as well, I can make 9-12 patches from a single wipe depending on the the towel size.

Re: Remington SQUEEG-E

.35 would be for 35 cal rifle and 38/357 handguns. They're both .358.

I would think that size would work with the 38-55.

Original sharps PP factory ammo?

Was the bullet patched to bore or groove diameter?

I am shooting C Sharps 50 2.5 and my first foray into PP was to bore diameter, the bullets are slip fit in the cases. I can't imagine wandering the plains with belt full of ammo that the bullets fall out of!

Re: Sharps 50-70

I would check the value on that Garrett, those were some of the closest "reproductions" made and have attained a following. Your rifle may be more valuable than you think. If I remember correctly the percussion guns had a functioning pellet primer system unlike the repros. made today.

Re: Bullet Mould with filler holes top and bottom?

Perhaps it was nose pour and the hollow base plug doubled as an alignment pin to hold it under the lead spout. I have cast Minnie style bullets and the. Plug it a time waster taking it out and replacing it. If the base plug was a fixed item under the lead spout you could pull the mould and just open...
