Re: mechanical zero
Chris When you set up the rear sight I have found the best way is get a dead wind zero at 200 meters (the chicken line). Move the front sight to get a zero at this range. It is critical the rear sight is on windage zero at 200. Then put the gun barrel in a padded vise with the front sight bubble in ...

Re: spotting scope buy
On a hot day both scopes are useless. With heavy mirage it is like looking through a fish bowl. High powers are fine on cool overcast days but on hot days you can't see a thing. I think a 15X is good. That is where a varible is good as long as it will go down to 15..

Re: 1885 High Wall
Mark With a coil spring action all the spring tension is on the hammer forward after the gun is fired. Now you have a dual coil spring holding the pin forward when opening the action. It would take a monster if a spring to move the firing and hammer back. Even a new firing pin will break shortly. Th...

Re: 1885 High Wall
MAH I don't believe original highwalls have a two piece firing pin. What do you mean by "striker"? High walls have a hammer and firing pin,No striker. It looks like yours has been gunsmithed. How did you get it out? From the front or the rear? What model do you have, coil spring or flat spring? Dave ...

Re: Dimensions required for a set trigger screw.
I think we just sold that action. I tried #2,33, And #4 screws in the trigger. It appears to be a #3 screw. The 56 TPI is too fine. I put a #3 48 in about 1/2 way and it stopped. Not wanting to "bugger op" the thread I stopped. I think he should remove the trigger and retap it foe a standard screw. ...

F/S Borchardt DST qctagon top action
I have listed on gunbroker #1886600709 A Sharps Borchardt double set trigger action with the octagon top. WE have a letter on this action from the sharps curator. The action is in excellent condition. These octagon top actions with the original DSTs are almost impossible to find. Here's a chance to ...

Re: Spotting Scope your help needed
I really don't understand all the questions about the high dollar spotting scopes. With BPCR guns shooting steel targets you are looking for a 3 or4 inch mark on a black target along with mirage and wind flags. If you are shooting .22s at 200 you need all the scope you can get. But BPCR guns at stee...

The starline brass it smaller right in front of the rim. It may just work in your rifle.

Re: 40-65 cases won't extract
Vince You are putting "Ron Long" cases in an original barrel. They are alot different. The Ron Long cases now starts the taper about .100 in front of the rim. The Winchester cases start the taper at the rim. You can have the barrel rechambered to the Ron Long design. It is very hard to size down the...
