Re: Rolling Block Sight Problem???
It could be the crown. It could be the bore is not concentric with the exterior of the barrel. I have a couple rifles that the bore at the muzzle is off quite a bit and had to drift the front sight to one side in order to get the rear centered on a no wind zero. In fact, most of my rifles front sigh...

Re: Are my cases ruined?
So long as the cases are dry when I put them back in the box while shooting, I just leave them alone until I get home. I've had no ill effect on the cases and have not cleaned them up to a week later. Normally I clean them the next day after traveling home. If they get wet during a match due to rain...

Re: 2017 World Championships. Australia.
Brent, I threaded the breech 3/4"-16 and used a grade 8 bolt. The breech face is flat since it is easier to clean then one with a concave face. I've tried it both ways and can see no difference between them. I turned a short step on the breech face that fits into a counter bore to seal the breech. M...

Re: 2017 World Championships. Australia.
I just got word of the results and decided to look here. Good shooting all around. I'm very pleased Raymond Hanson won with the Billinghurst under hammer rifle I built for him about 3 years ago. My first rifle was a re-barrelled T/C Renegade with .45 cal. 1:18 twist Green Mountain barrel. It did fin...

Unless the case head has gotten hot during annealing I've never had a primer pocket get loose. I have an old roller that was built in 1995 and I set up 300 cases when it was new. I've lost a couple for cracks when the chamber was very wet and a few when they got stepped on or likewise damaged. This ...

I have to admit, using cream of wheat is messy. I did not think to use a .38 pistol bullet. Have to try that next time.

Re: 40/50 SS cases from .303 British
I've used .303 brass to form both 38-60 and .40-60 Maynard. They come up just a bit short but I stretched the brass after trimming them square. I think they needed to be stretched about .050" so should be fine for .40-50s without the need to stretch. I blew out the brass with some shotgun powder and...

Re: Frontglobe Insert for Silhoutte Targets
When I used to shoot silhouette, I liked the 4 post aperture for the lay down targets. I tried them all on the chickens but found my best scores were when I used a pinhead aperture. Chickens is all about concentration and practice. Dry firing regularly or using an air rifle helps a great deal. FM

Re: New Canadian Member
It is going to depend on what game you intend to play. Silhouette or target rifle (referred to as Full bore in Canada). In either case, once you get beyond 300 meters with a 38-55 the degree of difficulty goes up. Beyond 600 yards, the 38-55 is not going to work. I own a pair of 38-55's and have onl...

A breath mint box like the old Altoids came in with a piece of foam. Cut slits in the foam so the insert stands up.
