MVA Long Range Sights for SALE

Father time has caught up with me. No longer able to use sights that are not magnified. So to stay in the game I am selling the sights off of my High Wall. The rear sight is a long range buffalo soule with 44 points of windage left or right. The sight includes a Hadley Cup. The front is a Winchester...

Re: 1885 High Wall

Morning, Thanks Dave for the reply. Your questions and thoughts are well founded. First what I am calling a striker, when the hammer falls it hits a rather round object in the block. That is what I am calling a striker, now inside the block I believe, originally this piece and the firing pin were on...

1885 High Wall

I have an original High Wall with a broken firing pin. When I first dis-assembled the gun for cleaning. The firing pin had a spring to re-track it, as the block was being lowered. Waiting for a new firing pin I decided to make one. I cleaned the face of the striker and it looked as though the firing...

Re: Loading the .40-70SS.... Information requested.

Just a small reminder about your twist rate. I have a 1-18 twist 40-70 on an original High Wall, The twist rate is funny on bullet length. I have found that bullets around 1.365 in length are very marginal. Some times they work and then the days you are counting them to work they just walk out the d...

Bore Scope

Morning Shooters,

Looking thru Issue #72, BPCNews I seen a bore scope by Clearview Engineering. I did a search on the archives and found no real comments on its use. Have any of you fellow shooters used one or heard any converstaions about this unit.

Thanks,

Success

A near perfect blue bird day in North Central Fla. Grabbed the 45-90 and headed to the range. Made several changes to the ammuntion, as were pointed out by a number of forum members. The 850 yard line was open the majority of the day. There I sat. My first group surpised the dickens out of me. All t...

Re: Extreme Spread

Dave, I have had the problem with the main spring. It has loosen up once again, the hammer will not set 100% of the time. You have me on the barrel and the set screw. I did not think of that! Today busy making the die for the neck tension. A good friend of mine who is a top notch machinest came by t...

Re: Extreme Spread

DRCook, My rifle is a CPA. Hey i did not mean that the BACO was down in the dirt junk, but more as constructive comment about its grease grooves. I know the chamber is a tad long 2.450 as best as I can mesures with a Goldberg tool I made. So I have taken 45-100 brass and cut them down to the 2.450 l...
