Does anyone know anything about these rifles re: quality, performance, durability, etc.? Just curious, because I've never seen anything mentioned about them.

OBL, I have to give the credit for developing the annealing process as it applies to lead alloy bullets to Mr. Veral Smith, a mould maker in Idaho. I have tweaked the process some, and done some experimenting with different anneal times to get different bullet strengths; however, the credit for all ...

Ray, I suspect a counter-top electric oven should would work well. The only problem I can see is that it may cool down faster than a kitchen oven, and your final alloy hardness might end up different; probably harder. However, I suspect one could tinker around and find a way to duplicate the cool do...

Ray, Sure, be glad to. I drop my ww bullets out of the hot mould into an ice cream bucket of cold water that has an old t-shirt in it to cushion the bullet drop. Once in a great while a drop of water jumps into the hot mould, but is immediately converted to steam and gone in an instant. That part so...

Been shooting this load in a Browning 1885 highwall for 10 years and it performs well for me. Serious wound channels with minimum meat damage; blood trails look like they were applied with a paint sprayer. Have never recovered a bullet. ww brass, Fed 210, LBT long flat nose @ 405 gr., chase patch, w...

Mike B., You might try using a blow tube for fouling mgmt. instead of wiping for your gg bullets for a short experiment. I run full house loads in exactly the same rifle you are shooting, and only get some lead sparkles with a blow tube. Leading gets somewhat heavier if I wipe between shots (wet pat...

Brent, I suspect you will do fine in BPCRS with your .38/72. One of the local guys here shoots the matches with his .38/55 and stuff seems to fall over ok, when he hits it. I've spotted for him quite a few times, and I don't think he has ever rung anything he hit as near as I could tell at least whe...
