Not BP but there is an article by Gordy Gritters on attempts to bust prairie dogs at 3500 yards in the most recent issue of Varmint Hunter Magazine. Apparently they came very close on several occasions. Even managed to hit a modestly sized steel gong a couple of times at that range. It's impossible ...

Mr. Dixon, if you get this up and running do let me know. Would offer some dollars in contribution to such a facility, formal or not. Living down in the swamps near the Withlacoochee River in Citrus County at present, you're not so far as to keep me from making the drive.

Well now, after thinkin' this over for a spell I find myself truly perplexed. It will shoot if you twist it enough but only girlie boys would load something as light at 1200 grains. 'Nother fella from days gone by was shootin' 1800 grains in a .68 caliber slug gun....wearin' a straw hat and s...

Glad to see that again Paul. Saw the information in cyberspace some time ago and lost it. Obturation is a hardness/pressure issue nothing more. Cup and core bullets do it with smokeless too.

A shameless churning of the pot.

SPG made a post over at WSU and w/ his blessing and MY desire to see these folks come on line with some bigger bores...it's flag waving time. Y'all be the bulls, I'll wave the cape. Now after you read this I want you all to go order some .38, .40 and .45 caliber barrels from these folks. LOTS of the...

DPharris...
Upset as obtained with BP, is essentially impossible with smokeless.
I'm laboring under a distinctly different impression on that. Is not obturation a function of hardness versus pressure?[/b]

Hmmm, sounds like a man portable slug gun to me....

I came so close to buying one of those a few years back...of C. Sharps persuasion. Wish I had, maybe I might. One of these days.

If the concussion of the firing makes your guts quiver and the soles of your feet sting, you got enough gun.
